President’s Message
Aloha Sunset Rotarians,
As we step into October, we have a dynamic month of fellowship, service, and meaningful club programs ahead. We kick off this week by welcoming Jefferson Elementary School Principal Kristen Ono. Our club has done many service projects with Jefferson Elementary, and Principal Ono will be sharing the impact we have made along with other insights into education in our community.
Looking ahead, we are also preparing for an exciting presentation on our Thai cultural exchange. Thank you all for your ongoing dedication, vibrant energy, and commitment to Service Above Self.

Focus: Club community impact and insights into local education. PP Dan Murariu will be sharing the awards our Club received at our most recent District Conference.

Wednesday, Oct 7: Community Service at The Pantry
Join us as we support local families facing food insecurity in our community! Volunteers assist with warehouse shopping, organizing and packing, directing traffic, and loading food boxes directly into client vehicles.
- Date & Time: Wednesday, October 7, 2026 from 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM
- Location: The Pantry, 2522 Rose Street, Honolulu, HI
Impact: Helping feed over 500 local families each shift

Saturday, Oct 10: World Mental Health Day & NAMIWalks Hawaii
World Mental Health Day is on October 10th, and our mission is to increase awareness and decrease stigma!
Event: NAMIWalks Hawaii- Date & Time: Saturday, October 10, 2026 – Check-in starts at 9:00 AM

Friday, Oct 23: Tee Off Against Polio Golf Fundraiser
Join us for the RCHS Annual Golf Fundraiser for Polio eradication as we swing into action for a great cause!
- Date & Time: Friday, October 23, 2026 at 6:30 AM
- Location: Waikele Country Club
Format: Scramble (4 players per team)
Golf Cost: $85 + tax (paid on your own with Hawaii ID)
Donation: Please make a $25–$100 tax-deductible donation to PolioPlus

Join us on Saturday, October 24th, as we support World Polio Day through education and highlight the vital significance of vaccinations. We are proud to partner with the JABSOM H.O.M.E. Project for this important community outreach.
